PlotA teenage boy living in Tokyo and a teenage girl from a rural town in the mountains are mystically connected when they discover they intermittently switch bodies while dreaming. The boy wakes up in the girl's body living her life and interacting with her friends and family, while the girl finds herself spontaneously inhabiting the boy's body and navigating his world in the big city. They start communicating by leaving notes, messages, and clues in their phones and surroundings, slowly building a connection and understanding of each other's lives.
As they continue to exchange lives on random days, they decide to set rules to avoid problems in each other's social lives and personal relationships. Through their unique form of correspondence, they develop an emotional bond and start affecting positive changes in each other's lives. However, just as they are becoming increasingly eager to meet in person, the phenomenon abruptly stops, leading to a desperate quest to find one another and uncover the reason behind their strange and magical connection.
