PlotWendy, a young autistic woman with a deep passion for Star Trek, navigates her structured life in a care facility with the support of her therapist, Scottie, and her older sister, Audrey. Wendy's routine is disrupted when she learns about a screenplay contest hosted by Paramount Pictures. Determined to submit her script and prove her independence, she meticulously plans a solo journey from her home in San Francisco to Los Angeles to hand-deliver her work. Facing an array of challenges, Wendy demonstrates resilience, using her keen intellect and love for Star Trek to guide her decisions.
As she embarks on this unanticipated journey, Wendy encounters various obstacles and strangers, some kind and others not as much, who help her learn valuable life skills. Meanwhile, Audrey and Scottie become increasingly worried about Wendy's safety and set out to find her. As Wendy gets closer to her destination, the experiences she faces become pivotal moments of personal growth. Each step forward solidifies her resolve and determination, challenging societal expectations and showcasing the importance of believing in oneself even under the most arduous circumstances.
