Wonder
Director: Stephen Chbosky
Actors: Jacob Tremblay, Owen Wilson, Izabela Vidovic
PlotBorn with facial differences that have prevented him from attending a mainstream school, a boy enters fifth grade at a public elementary school for the first time. Tasked with navigating the social dynamics of a new environment, he confronts challenges and bullying from his peers while striving to be accepted for who he is beyond his appearance. His loving parents support and encourage him in facing the world with kindness and bravery, hoping that others will see the extraordinary person their son is.
Through alternating perspectives, the narrative also examines the experiences of those closest to the boy, including his sister. She has her own journey of self-discovery, grappling with her identity and the impact of her brother's condition on her life. These interconnected stories explore themes of empathy, resilience, and the complex layers of family relationships, set against the backdrop of the young boy's quest for acceptance in his community.
