PlotA high school student living in New York City is bitten by a genetically-altered spider during a school field trip, granting him superhuman strength, agility, and the ability to cling to walls. Struggling with typical teenage problems and newfound powers, he crafts his own alter ego, donning a mask and costume to fight crime and uphold justice. Initially using his abilities for personal gain, a personal tragedy teaches him a profound lesson about responsibility, leading him to become a guardian of the city. His dual life causes complications, as he balances relationships with his aunt, his crush, and his best friend, while keeping his identity a secret.
Meanwhile, a respected scientist and father to the protagonist's best friend undergoes a drastic transformation. In an experiment gone wrong, he becomes an unstable villain with a split personality, equipped with a powerful exoskeleton and driven by madness and ambition. As he terrorizes the city, the paths of the young hero and the scientist become intertwined. The city's fate hangs in the balance as they clash in a battle of ideology and power, leading to a series of confrontations that test the limits of the hero's abilities and resolve.
