The Watch
Director: Akiva Schaffer
Actors: Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill
PlotIn a suburban Ohio town, Costco manager Evan discovers the night security guard murdered under mysterious circumstances. Driven by personal responsibility and a sense of community, Evan forms a neighborhood watch group to find the perpetrator and keep the neighborhood safe. He struggles to recruit members, ending up with an odd trio: Bob, a boisterous construction worker looking for male bonding and action; Franklin, a young high school dropout eager to become a cop; and Jamarcus, a recent divorcee seeking adventure. The group encounters resistance from the local police and mockery from other residents, but they remain undeterred in their self-appointed mission.
The watch team initially spends their nights indulging in boyish behavior, using the watch as an excuse to drink and bond rather than focusing on their duty. However, things take a turn when they accidentally discover strange metallic orbs and an odd, green goo that suggests that their suburban tranquility might be threatened by something far more unusual and dangerous than any of them expected. As they stumble upon increasingly bizarre occurrences, they begin to suspect that an alien invasion might be imminent, and their commitment transforms from recreational diversion to Earth's unlikely line of defense. The mismatched group must put their differences aside and learn to work together to protect their town from the otherworldly threat.
