PlotAn American family relocates to Southeast Asia due to the father's new job, hoping for a fresh start. Jack Dwyer, his wife Annie, and their two young daughters struggle to adapt to their new environment but remain optimistic. However, their hopes quickly shatter when they find themselves caught in the middle of a violent political uprising. The streets are suddenly flooded with chaos as rebel forces overthrow the government, targeting foreigners in a brutal purge. In the midst of the turmoil, the Dwyers seek refuge, narrowly escaping death while witnessing horrific acts of violence.
Throughout the ensuing terror, their determination to survive and protect each other becomes paramount. They form a fragile alliance with a mysterious British expatriate who has a wealth of local knowledge and resourcefulness. As they move from one precarious hiding place to another, their journey pushes them to their physical and emotional limits. Overcoming language barriers, cultural differences, and relentless pursuers, the family fights to navigate through an increasingly hostile environment. Their resilience and courage face continual tests as the true peril of their circumstances unfolds, leading them on an unrelenting path to safety.
