The Sacrament

Actors: Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Kentucker Audley
PlotA photojournalist named Patrick receives a letter from his estranged sister Caroline, inviting him to visit her at Eden Parish, a remote, self-sustaining rural commune located outside the United States. Intrigued by the possibility of a compelling story, Patrick travels with a pair of colleagues, Sam and Jake, who intend to document his reunion with Caroline and learn more about the mysterious community she's become a part of. Upon arrival, they are initially met with suspicion, but Caroline’s influence grants them access.
As the journalists start to poke beneath the surface of the seemingly idyllic community life, they encounter the charismatic leader known only as "Father." Through a series of interviews with Eden Parish residents, they begin to uncover the complex tapestry of beliefs and motivations that have drawn the members to leave their past lives and follow Father. Despite the positive testimonies from many residents, inconsistencies and signs of possible coercion start to emerge, prompting the crew to dig deeper into the true nature of the commune. However, their investigative efforts soon put them in an increasingly precarious situation, as not all is as peaceful as it appears in Eden Parish.
