Samantha Sherwood, a seasoned actress committed to her role, voluntarily checks herself into an asylum to research a mentally ill character for an upcoming film. However, her director, Jonathan Stryker, betrays her by leaving her in the institution while he auditions other actresses for the coveted role. Angered and vengeful, Samantha plots her escape and sets out to confront him. Meanwhile, Stryker arranges a weekend gathering at a secluded mansion for six actresses competing for the same role.
