PlotA teenage prodigy, Mitch, is recruited to join a group of brilliant students at a science and engineering university, where he teams up with the eccentric and rebellious senior, Chris. They work under the demanding and manipulative Professor Jerry Hathaway, who operates with an iron fist, using the talents of his students to fuel his personal ambitions. Mitch, initially in awe of the freedom and intellect at the university, soon discovers the high-pressure environment and finds a mentor in Chris. Together, they navigate the various pranks, social challenges, and the intensity of their academic endeavors.
As they delve deeper into their main project—a powerful laser with potential military applications—they begin to unravel the true intentions behind the research. Ethics and moral dilemmas come into play when the duo and their quirky band of fellow students uncover the real purpose of their work, leading to internal conflicts and a questioning of authority. The students are forced to decide between their academic successes and the moral implications of their work, setting the stage for a battle of wits and principles.
