PlotRobert Axle, a once-celebrated infomercial guru, loses everything after a product malfunction leads to financial disaster and a prison sentence. Upon his release, Robert returns to a world that's moved on without him and a family that struggles to trust him. Determined to rebuild his life, he takes up residence with his estranged daughter, Claire, who reluctantly allows him to stay while he tries to get back on his feet. Despite being penniless and without a plan, Robert's inventive spirit remains undimmed as he seeks to create a new gadget that will restore his reputation and fix his broken relationships. Along the way, he must confront his own past mistakes and find a way to make amends with those he's hurt.
Robert faces numerous challenges as he attempts to navigate the complexities of modern employment. Working a series of low-paying jobs, he encounters a variety of colorful characters who both help and hinder his attempts to re-enter the business world. His determination is tested as he battles against the stigma of his past and the changing landscape of the infomercial market. Robert's journey serves as a lesson in humility and redemption, and he must not only regain his former glory but also discover a renewed sense of purpose in his personal and professional life. As Robert strives for one last shot at success, he learns valuable lessons about family, trust, and the importance of facing the consequences of one's actions.
