PlotMaxwell Smart, an analyst for the American spy agency CONTROL, is eager to leave his desk job and become a field agent. When CONTROL's headquarters are attacked by the terrorist organization KAOS, led by the nefarious Siegfried, the identities of the agency's active agents are compromised. In response, the Chief of CONTROL promotes Smart to the rank of field agent. Paired with the capable but skeptical Agent 99, who has recently undergone plastic surgery to protect her identity, Smart is tasked with thwarting KAOS's plans for global domination.
Smart and Agent 99 embark on their mission to track down nuclear materials that Siegfried plans to use for a nefarious plot. Despite being a novice in the field, Smart's extensive knowledge and analytical skills, combined with Agent 99's experience and combat training, make them a formidable team. As they travel from Russia to the United States, they must learn to work together, navigating a series of misadventures and evading the ever-present threat of KAOS agents who are determined to stop them at all costs.
