PlotDora, a young explorer who has spent most of her life in the jungle with her parents, embarks on her biggest adventure yet—high school in the city. Along with trying to fit into a completely new environment, Dora has to reconnect with her cousin Diego, who has adapted well to city life. Their new academic routine is soon interrupted when an unexpected field trip leads to Dora and her friends being kidnapped by treasure hunters. They are after Dora's parents, who are archaeologists on a quest to locate the ancient lost city of gold, Parapata.
With the help of a mysterious jungle inhabitant, Alejandro, Dora and her friends must navigate through the dense jungle to reach her parents and uncover the secrets of Parapata. They face various challenges and puzzles that test their wits and teamwork. Along the way, they encounter both allies and adversaries from the wild environment as well as from human foes. Dora's optimism, knowledge, and bravery become crucial in overcoming obstacles and leading her friends through treacherous terrains. The quest becomes not just a mission to find gold but also a journey of self-discovery and the importance of family and friendship.
