Lisa Reisert, a hotel manager, detests flying but must take a red-eye flight back to Miami after attending her grandmother's funeral in Texas. While waiting to board her plane, she meets a charming and charismatic man, Jackson Rippner. Their casual conversation in the airport lounge leads to an apparent coincidence when they are seated next to each other on the flight. As the plane ascends, their initially polite small talk evolves into a more ominous conversation. Lisa discovers that Jackson's friendly demeanor masks a cold and calculating agenda.
