A conservative Midwestern family travels to California to visit their daughter at college during the holidays. Upon their arrival, they are shocked to discover that their daughter is dating an eccentric and outspoken Silicon Valley millionaire. The father, a traditional and somewhat overprotective man, instantly disapproves of his daughter's flamboyant boyfriend, creating tension.
